A Small Stone Number 24

Morning: I reached for the mug of tea on my bedside table. It was early and all I could taste was hot.
In the shower I used the still-almost-full bottle of Apple Mint gel bought in a Norfolk pound shop last summer
. There's a reason it's been relegated to the back of the shelf: it smells of factories rather than orchards or herb gardens, of plastic rather than sharp bubbles of cider. To make matters worse, it's the colour of an abrasive mouthwash or a wake-up stripe in toothpaste.
And it clashes with the pretend limestone of the tiled walls.

Oh dear. It doesn't sound like Monday started too well for you.
Do yourself a favour - throw out the fake apple stuff and treat yourself to a long soak in the bath this evening with a glass of chilled wine and something expensive to perfume the water!

Yes...but on a scale of one to ten of bad mornings (with 10 being the best-ever-booker-prize-winning-George-Clooney-starring-in-lead-role-brilliant) and 1 being mounting the stairs to scaffold...this has to be a routine 5...doing small stones has encouraged mindfulness, living in the now, even if it is a so-so rather dull now.
But yes to all your suggestions....

Ha ha! Mindfulness. I didn't know how boring my stretch of the M1 is until I discovered mindfulness.

On the other hand I now know where to watch out for the heron that flies overhead near the service station!
