I wouldn't even look twice at the US cover, the UK one is much more interesting ... To me a human being makes me more excitied than some buildings :=)A totally different story. Also the US one makes me think of historical fiction while the UK one makes me think of self-help ...
These covers seems to be promoting two totally different books, don't they? I agree that the British cover grabs attention, although I don't suppose the publishers were aiming at a self-help audience. Let The Great World Spin is still on my to-read list so I can't say if it is the best possible representation of the contents...interconnected stories about New York August 1974...a man tightropes between the twin towers...Watergate...Nixon resigns... but the two tone American cover not only suggests the long-ago past but also a very UN-Big Apple environment
