Oneg

I have been invited to give an ONEG on January 8th at Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue.  I thought it meant a talk or meeting but I have just discovered Oneg is Hebrew for delight.
The Encyclopedia Britannia defines an Oneg as being more a social occasion than a religious one.  

The group entertains itself with music, drama, community discussions, lectures, or the singing of religious melodies—all in keeping with the biblical injunction, “and call the Sabbath a delight” (Isaiah 58:13)

My nephew Dan said that it looked like this Friday night was going to be ONEG-LITE....
